What saith the Scriptures?
Let’s take a look at the Word of God to see what God thinks of His Scripture. As you will see there is total consistency in the Word of God regarding the Word of God, Scripture and the Bible.
Daniel 10:21
But I will shew thee that which is noted in the Scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
Matthew 21:42
Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the Scriptures, The Stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?
(Jesus recommending the reading of Scripture)
Matthew 22:29
Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
(Jesus saying that they were ‘in error’ because they were ignorant of the Scriptures. Folks we CANNOT have this happen to us… Isn’t eternity worth studying the Scriptures…?)
Matthew 26:54
But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
Matthew 26:56
But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
Mark 12:10
And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
Mark 12:24
And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
Mark 14:49
I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.
Mark 15:28
And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.
(The Scripture is ALWAYS fulfilled. Every Word of God is pure and true can e thought of as a promise. All people who are not ‘born again’ prior to death will be lost forever…)
Luke 4:21
And He began to say unto them, This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Luke 24:27
And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
(Jesus spoke from the Scriptures about Himself. He did not tell people to go to church, to become catholic, to tithe. He taught people that being a Christian is being “In Christ” and He in us… Religion would be a hindrance to finding the Truth in Christ.)
Luke 24:32
And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the Scriptures?
Luke 24:45
Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures,
(Jesus opens our understanding to Him, when we diligently seek Him in truth. God gives us understanding, not sacraments, not a priest, not a pope, not a nun, not your own understanding… God gives us understanding. It is a gift from God by grace. We cannot find the Truth on our own just like we can’t save ourselves… It is a gift from God. But we must seek Him as commanded in the Bible.)
John 2:22
When therefore He was risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this unto them; and they believed the Scripture, and the Word which Jesus had said.
(They believed the Scripture and the Words which Jesus said! THIS IS HUGE! Do you realize that most professing Christians do not believe the Words of Jesus? For example, God says that no homosexuals will enter heaven… But nobody wants to believe this… they don’t think it is politically correct. Well, it’s not politically correct but it is Biblically correct. We cannot stay in willful sin (Heb 10:26) and expect to go to Heaven. People are offended by the Bible because it cuts like a knife. They prefer a ‘fuzzy’ religion, one that make you feel good about yourself. That is why Smiley Osteen’s church is filled to the brim. People want their ears tickled. They want to hear nice things about Heaven and nothing about hell. Folks, we cannot change the Word of God and we cannot change God anymore than we can change the color of the sky!. God is sovereign and we are sinners. It’s His way (Jesus) and not our way… Who are we to invent our own paths to Heaven… Seek Christ now in Spirit and Truth, which is found in the Word of God, the Bible. All so-called Christians will say they are a ‘believer’… But what does that mean? What do they believe? If they ‘believe in’ Jesus, that means that they believe He is God. Well, satan knows Jesus is God. There is more to Christianity than just believing… It begins with believing and the fear of the Lord, but there is much more to being a saved Christian. I pray that you will seek this in the Word of God)
John 5:39
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me.
(Jesus is telling us to STUDY THE SCRIPTURES)
John 7:38
He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
(If we believe on Him, the way the Bible tells us to believe on Him as the Scriptures tell us to believe. We don’t believe the way we want, we believe the way He wants… We don’t love Him the way we want, we love Him the way He tells us to from the Bible).
John 7:42
Hath not the Scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
John 10:35
If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the Scripture cannot be broken;
(Scripture cannot be broken, proven wrong, stumped or destroyed and is always fulfilled).
John 13:18
I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.
John 17:12
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
John 19:24
They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
John 19:28
After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
John 19:36
For these things were done, that the Scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

Acts 8:32
The place of the Scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
Acts 8:35
Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same Scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
(Notice that they preached Jesus, not the tradition of men, sacraments, religion, holy water, nuns, popery, romanism, mormonism, or anything like that.)
Acts 17:2
And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the Scriptures,
(The Apostles taught the Scripture, not the words of men. 1 Cor 2:5)
Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
(We have to study the Word and receive Jesus in spirit and truth… God said these people in Berea were nobler than the Thessalonians who did not receive the Scriptures as readily. When we seek God with a honest humble spirit and look for Him in the Scriptures, He promises to save us…)
Acts 18:24
And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus.
(Notice that God said he was eloquent and mighty, why? He was wise in the Scriptures.)
Acts 18:28
For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, Shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
(What did he use to show that Jesus was the Saviour of the world and God? He used the Scriptures).
Romans 1:2
Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy Scriptures,
Romans 4:3
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
(Here we see that Abraham ‘believed God’, it did not say that Abraham ‘believed in’ God. There is a huge difference. In Romans, we learn that ALL people are without excuse before God with their sins and deeds. We must believe God and what He says as well as His existence).
Romans 9:17
For the Scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
Romans 10:11
For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.
Romans 11:2
God hath not cast away His people which He foreknew. Wot ye not what the Scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,
Romans 15:4
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
(We are to learn the Scriptures that they may give us hope and patience. Do you think there is a connection between the fact that we live in a world without hope and very few people read the Scripture anymore? I do. We live in a hopeless world that is mostly humanistic and secular. It is dying and passing away. Those who love the world have no hope. Only the few that love and obey Christ have hope…)
Romans 16:26
But now is made manifest, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
(Through the Scripture God made known to the world His commands).
1 Corinthians 15:3
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures;
(Jesus dying for our sins, was a fulfillment of the Scriptures).
1 Corinthians 15:4
And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:
Galatians 3:8
And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
(The Scriptures foreknew how God would justify the lost… Amazing).
Galatians 3:22
But the Scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
Galatians 4:30
Nevertheless what saith the Scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

2 Timothy 3:15
And that from a child thou hast known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
(If there is one verse in the Bible that should make a man understand how important the study of the Bible is, this should be it).
2 Timothy 3:16All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
(Another verse that clearly states that we need to be in the Word of God daily for the wisdom of God and spiritual matters).
James 2:8
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the Scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
James 2:23

1 Peter 2:6
Wherefore also it is contained in the Scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded.
2 Peter 1:20
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation.
(The Scripture interprets itself perfectly. It does not need a man to interpret nor should any man interpret the Bible. When men interpret the Bible they will always get error. We must listen to God and God alone through His Holy Bible).
2 Peter 3:16
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.
(Here is the #1 verse in the Bible that the catholic church uses to deceive their flock and trick them into not reading the Bible because “they might get it wrong unto their own destruction”… It is a fear tactic to keep their flock from reading and studying the Bible and coming to saving faith Jesus Christ. You see, if a catholic will study the Bible as we are commanded, that person might get saved and if they receive the Holy Spirit they will leave the catholic church. You cannot stay in a church filled with error when you have the Holy Spirit. God won’t let you stay in spiritual error if you are saved.)

But I will shew thee that which is noted in the Scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
