The Word of God is the Holy Words of God given by inspiration. They are Holy, perfect and true. God has esteemed His Word above His own name (Psal 138:2)
We find eternal life IN HIS WORDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (John 6:63) Not in religion or dead traditions taught by men... People don't realize this, but they can nullify the Words of God by following man made traditions (Matt 15:6).... Follow the Bible, the Word of God, not men. (Matt 4:4) Psalm 84:12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in Thee. Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. Let's look at the Word of God to see what it says about the Word of God giving life... John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. Acts 5:20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life. Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. Philippians 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. As you can see, from God's own Book... Eternal life is found by RECEIVING HIS WORD! There is not one verse in the Bible that says eternal life comes from religion, going to church, eating a wafer, pilgrimages, man-made tradition, selling magazines door to door, good works or any of those 'things. The Bible is the written Word of God and Jesus Christ IS the Word of God in the flesh! John 1:1-14 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in he beginning with God. 3 All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through Him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. 12 But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and (He) dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. As you can see from God's Word, that Jesus was the Word in the flesh. He must be received to have eternal life. He must be received. If you call yourself a Christian and you have no intimate relationship with the Word of God, you need to get in the Word and prove yourself to have true salvation. Most professing Christians just go to church every week thinking they are saved because they 'go to church'. Folks, that is not in the Bible anywhere nor bears any resemblance of that. Yes, we are to 'not forsake the assembly of the saints', thats true... but nobody is saved by church going. Going to a good Bible teaching church is done as an act of obedience to Christ after we are 'born again' and He has become our Lord, but not to be saved. Need more proof? Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Why didn't God tell us that faith... 'cometh by (going to) church'? Because that is not where faith comes from. It comes from hearing and reading the Word of God. Also, from these verses we need to know that we have to seek Him. Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.Let's look at some more More Bible verses about the Word of God... |
