Is the Catholic Church the True Church of Jesus?

Intro:
Dear catholic, this section of the site is for the catholics who have a love for the truth. If you love the truth and want to know what your church really teaches, please go through the list of links to the right. This information will open your eyes to the truth about the church of Rome and show you how unbiblical your church is. God tells us in His Holy Word, who His saved children are and it DOES say that most catholics will be denied heaven. If you don't read the New Testament and then compare the Bible to the catechism, then you could be eternally lost. You have to stop blindly following the leaders of your church. The Bible IS your SOLE AUTHORITY and not a church membership nor tradition and not a priest. You WILL be judged by the Bible (John 12:48). Please continue to read on and give us the chance to PROVE to you that your church and it's doctrines could keep you out of heaven.

Most catholics will say that Jesus founded Roman Catholicsm and built His church on Peter.
Then why is the Bible, Peter's two letters and Jesus' ministry completely VOID of romanism? If catholicism IS the church that Jesus built than there must be some teachings on catholicism mentioned by Jesus and/or the Apostles but there are none. Yes, your church is very good at pointing to one or two verses here or there and saying, "see, there it is, there's our teaching." But those verses do not prove catholicism at all. Every cult that has ever existed, since Jesus died, cherry picked verses to try and prove a doctrine that they held to. These false teachers are preying on your ignorance of the Word of God (Hos 4:6) to fool you into believing that their doctrines are true. That is why your church has done all it could the last 1500 years to keep you in the dark of what God's Word really says, meanwhile they have kept their flock from reading the Holy Bible by saying horrible things about the Word of God. See this video to understand exactly how they have waged war against the Word of God over the years.

Your church has told you that the catholic church was the first church and that it is built on Peter, as he was 'the Rock.' Then why did Jesus call him a 'stone' (John 1:42). Of course, your church changed that word to Peter in their Bible... Anyway, If your church IS built on  Peter the Rock... than there MUST be some catholic teachings in the Bible that pope Peter started, otherwise, it's a lie that your church was built on Peter. Peter did write 2 books of the Word of God. And if your church IS founded on Peter than we should be able to find some catholic teachings or catholic terms in Peter's books.

So let's take a quick stroll through 1st and 2nd Peter to see what 'pope' Peter wrote. So grab your Bible and take a short walk with me through these 2 books written by your first Pope.
I will use your own catholic Bible as we go through and take a look at what pope Peter wrote about catholicism... Let's see if the catholic church is truly founded on Jesus and Pope Peter...

Your church teaches that Peter became Pope soon after Jesus died around 32ad and was Pope til around 67ad. Ok, then Peter was Pope about 35 years +/-. Scholars say that these
2 letters were written by Peter just before his death, around 67ad. So lets say in 35ad. So that means, Peter had been Pope for 33 +/- years when he wrote these 2 books. So let's get started.  Let's see if Pope Peter ever wrote about Mary's immaculate conception, nuns, cardinals, holy water, the mass, purgatory, the vatican, transubstantiation, the eucharist, or anything at all that is considered 'catholic'. If he did, great. If he did not, then you'll need to ask yourself: how is roman catholicism founded on Pope Peter?

1 Peter - Ch 1:
Verse 1 - Peter calls himself an apostle. Doesn't it seem strange that a pope of 35 years would call himself an 'apostle' and not the Pope? I see that as being strange. He also referred to the 'laity' as being 'strangers' instead of catholics. Seems strange again. Then he refers to the strangers in Asia instead of Rome, which is in Europe. If Peter was in Rome and was the Pope for 35 years, why didn't he write the letters to the 'catholics' in Rome? Maybe cause he was never in Rome?

The Bible never says he was in Rome at all. Seems like if he was in Rome for 35 years reigning as the first Pope, he could have at least gotten right which continent his flock located. And, another question would be... if Peter had been pope for 35 years, why did Paul write the book of Romans and not Pope Peter? Why would the 'laity", Paul, write that book instead of Pope Peter? In the book of Romans, Paul mentioned over 25 other saints and never mentions Pope Peter even one time. How could such a huge mistake happen? Could you imagine a member of the 'laity' writing to the saints in Rome (instead of the Pope) and then fail to mention the pope one time? Seems odd. V3 - Peter says his flock was regenerated by Jesus and His blood. Your church teaches regeneration at infant baptism. If your church is founded on Peter, why do they disagree on when catholics are born again?

V5 - Peter says the flock is saved by God's power (grace). See Eph 2:8. I am shocked that Peter failed to mention the keeping of catholic sacraments for salvation here. Your church teaches a sacramental salvation but Pope Peter failed to mention the sacraments here. Seems strange he would fail to mention how the sacraments save you.

V7 - Peter says Jesus is coming again (at His 2nd appearing). But the catholic church is amillenial, which says Jesus will not return and reign on the earth for a 1000 year literal reign. Now, how could the first Pope be so wrong or is the amillenial teaching that your church teaches be wrong? Either way, why is your church not standing on the Rock, Pope Peter, so far? We have only gone through 7 verses and look at all the differences between what Pope Peter taught and the RCC.

V10 - Again Peter mentions grace coming to the catholic people but failed to mention that they came through sacraments and catholic catechism classes, like your church teaches. Pope Peter just doesn't know much about catholicism, it appears.

V12 - Peter says the gospel was preached to the flock. But when and where do we find in these 2 letters or in the New Testament anywhere a gospel that included sacraments? Where? It's not in there, anywhere? The gospel WAS (past tense) preached to the flock. But yet there is no sacraments mentioned anywhere in the books of Peter now anywhere in the Bible. So it appears that the gospel that is in the Bible is different from the catholic sacramental gospel. What did Paul say about another gospel? See: Gal 1:6-8. Wow, anyone who teaches another gospel than the one found in the Bible is under a curse by God... And you are following a different (sacramental) gospel, that is not found in the Bible!
Even your beloved apologist, Scott Hahn refers to the catholic gospel as a "sacramental gospel?" Please understand the catholic gospel is a sacramental gospel and not the same gospel that Jesus and the Bible speak of. Thus, damning the souls of men just as Paul said in Gal 1:6-9.

V18 - Pope Peter says here that oral tradition is VAIN. I find it amazing that the pope would call 'tradition'... vain. This is HUGE! If your church is built upon Pope Peter than why does Pope Peter say tradition is vanity when your church makes tradition just as (and even more) vitally important as Scripture??  Also, why didn't Peter mention that catholics are redeemed by sacraments, attending the mass weekly or infant baptism, like your church teaches?  Dear catholic, it's time to start asking yourself some serious questions regarding your church and its teachings and if they really came from Peter or lying men, who are looking to steal your soul... Let's keep going, as Pope Peter had to mention catholicism somewhere in these two infallible letters.

V21 - Peter says that our hope and faith is in God. Why didn't he mention our faith being in Mary? Your church teaches faith in Mary. This also, seems strange that Pope Peter would fail to mention 'faith in Mary' or even mention Mary ONCE in his letters. What a horrible mistake for the first pope to make, by failing to mention the Virgin Mary and her role in the catholic church.

V22 - Peter mentions the saints as being "purified" by obedience. Obedience to what/whom? Obedience to the God by the Word of God!
Not Mary, a church, a priest, sacraments, etc. But obedience to God and the Word of God. Purified also, being PAST TENSE! If we are purified (past tense) by obedience to God... WHY DO CATHOLICS NEED TO GO TO PURGATORY FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS TO BE PURIFIED???? Why would Pope Peter make such a huge mistake saying catholics could be purified, past tense? When your church says almost all catholics will have to spend thousands of years in purgatory 'being purged' of sin??? Don't you see a terrible conflict here between Pope Peter and the RCC? You should. Maybe because that's why THE TEACHING OF PURGATORY IS A LIE! Even Pope Peter failed to mention purgatory and his teaching contradicts the teaching of purgatory when he said that we are purified by OBEDIENCE!

V23 - Peter says here we are "born again" by the Word of God!!! The Bible IS the written Word of God! Jesus was the living Word of God. See: John 1:1-2, John 1:14, Rev 19:13. Peter said we are born again by the Word of God! If you have to understand the written Word of God IS the Bible! Yet, your church tells you to refrain from reading the Bible because you can't understand it and interpreting the Word of God must be left up to the magesterium. THE WORD OF GOD KNOWS NOTHING OF THIS! Peter said you are born again by the Word of God NOT by infant baptismal regeneration like your church teaches. You have to be able to repent to be born again. Babies cannot repent. So here is another huge problem. How can the church be built on Peter when they do not agree on anything? What a huge mistake for Pope Peter to say the flock is born again by hearing the Word of God (See: Luke 8:21, Luke 11:28, John 8:47, Acts 15:7, Rom 10:17, 1 Thes 2:13) when the RCC says the flock is born again by infant baptismal regeneration? Dear catholics, godly sorrow and repentance are required for regeneration (See: 2 Cor 7:10), so how can a 2 month old baby, have godly sorrow and repent of sins not committed? This is a huge problem for catholicism when Pope Peter says we are regenerated by the Word of God and the Bible (God) says we are regenerated by the Word of God, yet the catholic church teaches their flock is regenerated by baptism... Dear catholics, who are you going to believe? Peter, Scripture, Jesus Christ and the Bible... or your priest, who says you were regenerated at baptism, likely as a 3 month old baby? Please believe what God says and not your church. Isn't that what a "Believer" is? Someone who believes what God has said? Or is a believer someone who believes what the catholic church teaches? Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him as righteousness, Rom 4:3.

V25 - Peter says that the written Word of God endures forever! Yet, your church has waged war for 1500 years against the Bible (Word of God), only to be interpreted by them. Which the Bible knows nothing about. So why would Pope Peter say the written Word of God endures forever when your church teaches it's a dead book? Something for you dear catholics to consider.

1 Peter - Ch 2:
V2 - Peter says to desire the "milk" as babes in Christ. What is the "milk"? Well, in non-catholic Bibles, the milk is the food that Jesus said for Peter to feed the sheep (John 21:16) with (1 Peter 2:2). Of course, the Douay changes this, as the catholic church can't wage its war against the Word of God (Scripture) and then translate their bible in a way that makes the Scripture "Holy". So "milk" is the Word of God and Pope peter says to be fed by Scripture and Peter obeys the Lord Jesus and did feed the sheep the Word of God, yet the catholic church translates their bible to bring down the Scripture as it always has. They do this to lift tradition to the level of Scripture and even above Scripture. If they can make tradition more important than Scripture, they can deceive you, and they have, because very few catholics study to show themselves approved (2 Tim 2:15).

V5 -Peter calls the "LAITY" a "Holy Priesthood"!! WOW, what a HUGE conundrum for the first Pope to make. He called the laity the priesthood! Peter, who was the first catholic priest to become pope, was writing his letters to the church and he called the lowly laity, the priesthood! What another huge mistake by the first pope to make. How can this be, dear catholic? How can Pope Peter do this? What a terrible dilemma for the church! As a catholic, how do you address this mistake by Pope Peter? How can the RCC be built on Peter, the Rock, when Peter the Rock didn't even know the difference between the clergy and the laity? If your church is truly founded on Peter, why do you call the clergy the 'priests' when Peter referred to the laity as the priests? Catholics, you base your entire religion as being the true church based on Jesus telling Peter to "feed my lambs"... yet, there is nothing written by Pope Peter that refers to roman catholicism, but his writings actually come against catholicism. I hope by this point you are starting to ask some questions about your religion and can now see how they have been lying to you. Isn't your soul TOO IMPORTANT to be lied to by these men? God thinks so, and so do I. That's why He wants you to Read His Word!

V 6-8 - Peter is speaking of believing Scripture and how those that believe God and the Scripture (not believe IN God, but believe God) will be blessed and those who do not will stumble and be lost forever. Dear catholic, your church teaches you to believe only the parts of Scripture which (seem to) prove catholic teachings while the rest of the Bible is discarded.  Jesus said go into the world and spread the gospel. How many catholics do that? very little. Jesus said call no man (holy) father. How many catholics obey that command? NONE. Catholics do not obey God, they obey the church and the priest. They prove by their deeds that they believe and follow the church while disbelieving the Word and God. I know this as I see it with my own eyes and did the same thing for 35 years when I was catholic. In V7, we see Peter (the stone) referring to Jesus as The Rock, instead of himself.

V9 - Peter again calls the laity the 'priesthood' instead of himself being a priest, which he was. But the point is, all that are saved in Christ ARE priests... which causes a huge dilemma to your church which teaches the clergy / laity hierarchy, which is the error of the Nicolaitans which Jesus HATES (See: Rev 2:6 and Rev 2:15). How can you being catholic continue to believe that the catholic church is founded on Peter, when Pope Peter wrote Scripture that contradict everything your church teaches? As we walk through these letters, it becomes easier and easier to see, that when your church says the catholic church was founded on Pope Peter... that is a terrible lie. You should be getting angry by now by the lies your church has been telling you, which risks your soul!

V11 - Why does Pope Peter refer to these catholics as being strangers and pilgrims instead of catholics?

V13 - Peter is saying (to the jews) when you speak among gentiles, speak honestly. If Peter were in Rome, which was almost all gentiles and few jews, why would he refer to them as gentiles? The catholic church says Peter was in Rome which was almost all gentile. This cant be. He's talking to the jews, which is who his ministry was to as Paul's ministry was to the gentiles. Peter (if he were speaking to gentiles in Rome) would not have said, when you speak to the gentiles... More proof that Peter was never in Rome.

V16 - Peter says the flock is free and have liberty, yet the catholic church puts people in bondage to religion when they teach you MUST go to mass to get to heaven. Religions like catholicism puts people in bondage to more rules and regulations that Jesus gave us. Pope Peter did not yoke any religious yokes on the people, like the RCC does. True Christians who follow the Word and Jesus alone, are FREE and have liberty, unlike the catholic who must go to mass, must go to auricular confession, must be catholic, etc etc. Peter knew and taught freedom in Christ where roman catholicism teaches religion, which is legalism and bondage to men and their rules... (See: John 8:32, Rom 8:21, 2 Cor 3:17,
Gal 2:4, Gal 4:9, Gal 5:1, 2 Pet 2:19).

V21 - Peter says we are to follow Christ as He is our example. Do catholics follow Christ? Be honest. No, catholics do not follow Christ at all. How do I know, I was one for 35 years and my family is still catholic. I see catholics who are in the world daily. Few if any, follow and obey Christ. They are just as worldly as the world is. They partake in all the worldly events, worldly politics, worldly cares almost none take up their cross. Yes, there are a few that serve as missionaries and that's great. But it doesn't make one a saved disciple. Catholics are good people, no doubt, but that also will not save you, according to Jesus.

1 Peter - Ch 3:
V9-12 - Peter says not to render evil for evil. Then how come dozens of popes over hundreds of years went out and murdered tens of millions of innocent people for no reason during the holy wars, inquisition, dark ages, papal wars, etc. Seems like a church that is built on the Rock or Peter would obey this command of doing no evil. But they did not. They went and murdered millions because the RCC is not built upon Peter, but the teachings of men. What about the millions of little kids that have been sexually abused the last 100 years that we know about now?  That's definitely evil, also. God's prayers are against this church and the people in this church (See: 2 John 1:11) Since the papacy has done much evil throughout the ages, the Lord is against this church.

V18 - Peter says that Jesus died ONCE and for all for sins. Why did he fail to mention the ongoing sacrifice of the mass? Seems like another huge problem for the RCC. There was Peter's chance to mention the ongoing sacrifice of the mass, but did not. Are you sure your church is built upon Pope Peter? Are you sure Peter was pope or even in Rome? You shouldn't be because he wasn't.

1 Peter Ch 4:
V2 - Peter says we should live by following God's rule and commands, NOT the laws of men. When your church tells you that you must go to mass to be saved, but God has not said that, then you are under the laws of men. That is called religious bondage. Peter said the same words that Jesus said. Be FREE in Christ and not burdened by the yokes of men. See: Matt 23:13.

V11 - Peter says if ANY man speak to speak the words of God. Where are the words of God found? In the Bible, the Word of God. When priests and popes speak catholic terms, doctrines and rituals, are they speaking the Words of God? No, because only spoke against those things. Why doesn't the catholic church follow Peter IF they are built on the Rock of Peter?

V16 - Peter uses the term, Christian. I find it strange he failed to call the flock, catholics.

V17 - Peter says that the flock is the House of God. He fails to mention the catholic church as being the house of God. This is another huge mistake for the first pope to claim that the people in the church are THE Church instead of the catholic church. How could this be? How can the first Pope call THE Church, the people OF the church instead of the vatican? Also, dear catholics are you obeying the Gospel? I am talking of the Gospel found in the Word of God. Not the catholic sacramental gospel. The Bible knows nothing of that gospel as God doesn't either. Peter says those who are disobedient will not see heaven. Obedient to who? Obedient to Christ. Being obedient to a church system means NOTHING! Jesus said call no man (holy) father, what do you do? Call all the priests and popes and cardinals, (holy) father. You cannot even obey the most simple of commands that Jesus gave. Dear catholic, I would be very concerned for your soul at this point...

V18 - Peter says sinners do not go to heaven as did Jesus and the other Apostles... Dear catholic, did you know that God has given you the ability to overcome sin through faith, if you believe? See our page on sin. If you keep sinning you will NOT enter heaven. Do you practice sin daily? If you do, then you do not understand the Gospel and are still under God's judgment.

1 Peter Ch 5:
V1 Peter spoke of the elders of the church which is true Biblical government, not priests and popes and cardinals. How could pope Peter have gotten this wrong?  He also referred to himself as as an elder. Why not a pope? How could this be? Maybe because Peter was never a bishop, never a pope and not even in Rome. You should be bothered that your church has been lying this lie for 1700 years.

V2 - Peter said feed the flock. Feed them what? Feed them the Word of God, not a wafer. That's how men are saved. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

V3 - He says to not be lords over the flock. But what does the priests and popes do? They are lords over the flock. It's the Nicolaitan error that Jesus hates, which we have discussed already. Again, the catholic church does exactly what Pope Peter said not to do. The church lords over you and you have no freedom which Jesus gave you. You have no freedom as the church puts unbiblical yokes on you that you cannot bear. Like, never missing mass or it's a mortal sin. This is religious bondage, not freedom in Christ!

V4 - Again Peter says Christ is coming back which destroys the amillenial eschatology views held by your church.

V5 - Peter says for the younger sheep to submit to the elders, not the priests and popes. God gives grace to the humble. Grace does not comethrough sacraments like your church teaches.

V6 - Peter says be humble, yet the most exalted man on the planet is the pope. See also Matt 23:12, Luke 18:14. If any man exalts himself, God will humble him. What does that mean for the pope, the most exalted man on earth. God will humble him.

V10 - Peter says that God makes perfect. If we can be made perfect, than why does anyone need to go to purgatory for thousands of years? Well, they don't. Because what Jesus did on the cross can make us perfect (mature) in the Lord. Purgatory is another lie to get money out of you. Are you mad yet?

2 Peter 1:
V1 - Peter only refers to himself as a servant to God (he did not serve the church organization) and Apostle. What a great chance to signify his papa crown but failed to mention it. Seems strange a pope of 35 years would fail to mention that he was a pope for 35 years again!

V2 - Grace comes through knowledge of God! Where do we get this knowledge? From the Word of God! Yet, your church tells you to not read the Bible because it will confuse you. Not so! Once you get truly born again (godly sorrow for sin and true repentance) understanding the Bible is easy! Yes, it is true the carnal man cannot understand the Word of God but the person born of the Spirit easily understands the Bible!
See 1 Cor 2:14

V3 - Peter says we are saved by God's grace, not sacraments! This comes through knowledge of God not knowledge of roman catholicism. Where do we find all we need to know about God for this salvation? From the Word of God! Not the words of men or catholicism. Note that Pope Peter that God gives knowledge to ALL things that pertain to life and godliness in His Word! Dear catholic, the Bible is the best friend you have on this planet! Read that Book and do what it says and you WILL go to heaven!

V10 - Peter says to be holy and godly but never mentions anything catholic, ever! So much for being the first pope. So much for the church of Rome being founded on Peter, the stone.

V20-21 - Pope Peter says that the Word of God is not for private interpretation. The Scripture interprets itself. It is the literal words from God to be taken literally. Not to be spiritualized. We are to read it, believe it and do it! Not spiritualize it away nor give it to a group of men to interpret for us. That's how people get deceived, when they allow men to tell them what God says in the Word. Folks, please read the Bible yourself and heed its warnings so that you will be knowledgeable in the Lord! The Bible was not given us by the RCC and the magesterium is not the intrepreter of the Word of God. The Holy Spirit tells us what the Bible says once we are born from above! If you cannot understand what the Bible says, it's because you don't have the Holy Spirit and not born of God. There is no way to go to heaven without the Holy Spirit. See:
John 3:5

2 Peter 2:
V14 - Peter again speaks of people who cannot stop sinning. True Christians have broken the bondage to sin. If you have not broken your bondage to sin, through faith and by God's power, you will not enter heaven. Peter says we are to break the bondage of sin and this can only be done by God's grace. See our page on sinning and grace for more information.

V15 - Peter is warning of the flock going the wrong way. Is it possible, dear catholic, your church gotten you on the wrong way with this lie that Peter was first pope?

V19 - Peter is discussing false teachers and how they are servants of corruption. Would your priests be considered servants of corruption when you know how many millions of kids they have sexually abused and tens of millions of innocent people they have killed over the millenniums? I think so!

2 Peter 3:
V3-5 - Peter says there will be people who scoff at His 2nd coming. Dear catholics, I have spoken to hundreds of catholics as I was one for
35 years and all of my family is still catholic and every single one that I have spoken to... scoff at His 2nd coming! Pope Peter is referring to you! Because you have bought the amillenial lie (Jesus won't literally return) from your church, you scoff when others say that He will return. Your own first pope prophesied about you! Dear catholic, PLEASE start reading your Bible and devouring the Word the way John 6, tells you
to! When you don't read the Bible and allow your priest to tell you what it says, YOU ARE WILLINGLY IGNORANT! Just like Peter prophesied!
Peter goes on to say that these people WILL PERISH! Don't let this be you! You have a Bible in your house. Read it, believe it, LIVE IT!

V9 - Peter says to REPENT! He did not say to go confess your sins to a priest! He said REPENT!

V12-13 - Again Peter says how Jesus will return, thus destroying the churches amillenial view.

V14 - Peter says that God is coming for a church (body of people, not a denomination) that is without blemish and spot. How can this be the catholic church when they have slaughtered millions and abused millions of small kids? Are they without spot or blemish? No, but you can be if you will truly repent the way the Bible tells you to instead of the way your church tells you to (penance).

V16 - Peter says that he and Paul have written letters and got them to the church (people) and that some of the people wrestle with the Scriptures they have written. Folks, your church has said for 1000 years that they have given us the Bible. How can this be when Peter just said that they wrote Scripture and gave them to the people? Here is another terrible lie from your church unto the catholic faithful. This should make you very angry. Your church has consistently said that it has given the world the Bible, yet Pope Peter JUST SAID, that he and Paul wrote Scripture and gave it to the people! The Scripture was written by the Apostles and delivered to the churches as needed. The churches that existed in the days of the Apostles had the Word of God! I have heard dozens of catholics say the Scripture did not exist in those days which is just foolishness! Your church will stop at nothing to put down Holy Scripture and lift tradition to make their church look look like the true church, which it is not!

V18 - Peter says to grow in knowledge of God. Dear catholic, the only way to do this is to devour the Word of God! This is where we find God, gain wisdom and knowledge of God and find true salvation. Not in sacraments, rituals and traditions!

Conclusion:
Dear catholics, how can your church say that it is founded on the teachings of Peter when there is not a single catholic doctrine, term, word or tradition written by Peter in either of his letters?  If he was truly the first pope and your church is founded on him, where are his catholic teachings if they are not in the Bible? There are none, as Peter did not teach anything that resembles anything 'catholic'.  If I were catholic,
I would be asking myself a lot of questions right now. How can any catholic now say, that their church is founded on Peter? When you thoroughly go through Peter's two books, you can see that what he wrote in his letters only contradict roman catholicism and gives nothing to believe that he was ever in Rome, or ever a pope. If Peter was not in Rome nor a pope, then the whole catholic religion crumbles like a house of cards, which it does. Peter's two books only prove that catholicism was not founded on him but on other men who crept in unawares (Jude 1:4) and are teaching and doctrines of men (Matt 15:9, Mark 7:7, Eph 4:14, Col 2:22).  PLEASE turn to your Bible as your ONLY source of learning what is necessary to gain eternal salvation! Don't listen to men, but only God, as He is the only One you can trust!
